| about the band: |
We
are an unsigned rock band from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, a suburb of
Columbus. We do all our own material, and play out around the Columbus
area. Our influences include a vast array of music makers, making a
list too long for this paragraph. But I could just say from Rush to
Rage Against the Machine to Radiohead. Or, Queens of the Stone Age to
Megadeth to Primus. We grew up together and have been playing in Verner
Caliper for over ten years. That time has allowed for us to form
our distinct sound. Our music can be busy at times and catchy at
others. You will always hear the sounds of andy clark and andy
weisbarth, combining fitting rock riffs and busy bass lines,
accompanying andy clark's unique and original voice stylings that
surprisingly flow with the sometimes off the wall chord progressions.
You will also hear jimmy weisbarth, the drummer. He will keep you on
your feet as well as impress you if you see us live. Our song
writing style is not always traditional. We don't always follow the
standard form. Verner Caliper is outside the box, original, hard,
progressive, groovy, melodic, instrumental, rock.

what kind of history? |
Originally,
in 1995, andy the bass player was on guitar and vocals while andy the
guitar player was on bass for half the time. They would switch up and
andy the bass player would then be on bass while andy the guitar player
would be on guitar and vocals. After deciding they both
couldn't
be front man, and Verner Caliper needed a dedicated and devoted bass
player, andy the bass player took up bass. Anyways, in the first year
while the two andy's played and wrote songs together andy the bass
player's brother, so as to fill the much needed position, picked up the
drums. Since then, Verner Caliper has played at venue's all around the columbus, ohio area, and recorded about 30 songs.
